Mondovì
About a 20-minute drive from the agritourism is Mondovì, a town of noble origins, famous not only for the beauty of its ancient buildings and scenic funicular railway, but also for its characteristic hot-air balloon festival, which attracts many visitors every January.
Shrine of Vicoforte
Just a few kilometers from Mondovì, you can admire the world's largest elliptical dome. From May to October, it is also possible to walk the ancient catwalks reserved for the workers to reach the top of the building, enjoying a breathtaking view from the top of the dome, 75 meters above the ground.
Saluzzo
Less than an hour's drive from our location, you can visit Saluzzo, capital of the marquisate of the same name straddling the Alps, which in ancient times was an Italian state, including Piedmontese and French territories. There are countless important monuments, dating from the late medieval-Renaissance period, in a place that has always been a crossroads of men, goods and ideas.
Royal Castle of Racconigi
Not far from Turin, the Royal Castle of Racconigi is a wonder to visit. Part of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has also been reopened as a museum since 1994. Equally interesting is the 170-hectare park behind it, voted Italy's most beautiful park in 2010. Originally built by the same architect as the Palace of Versailles, on the orders of Charles Albert in the 19th century, the garden park was revamped with the romantic feel it still has today.
Ligurian Riviera
Our favorable location, near the border between Piedmont and Liguria, allows you to add to your list of excursions, reaching some of the places on the Ligurian Riviera such as Savona, Finale Ligure, and Pietra Ligure.
