A secret past
The history of the Cascina is lost in the centuries, going back to remote eras that captivate the imagination. Its place of origin was mentioned, for the first time, by the Carthusian monks who settled in the Monastery of the Charterhouse back in 1173.
The most "recent" purchase agreement of the building dates back to October 17, 1749, thanks to the Tertiary Sisters.
Since then, the events that took place in the Cascina remain shrouded in a veil of mystery.

1998
The year of the turning point. The year of the crazy idea to buy this old, forgotten, weathered farmhouse.
Let me introduce myself, I am Massimiliano, the current owner of the Cascina Veja agritourism, or "old farmhouse" in the Piedmontese dialect. At the time, I was a young 17-year-old with a dream to fulfill even though the vision on how to complete the farmhouse was still a bit fuzzy. As time passed, my enthusiasm grew and the idea of the agritourism began to take shape.

2005
After years of renovation, thanks in part to the help of my parents, on March 20, 2005, on a warm Sunday in spring, my dream came true with the opening of the agritourism Cascina Veja.
All the hard work was rewarded because, on that special day, I understood that I had created something extraordinary: a place that would bring joy and serenity to anyone who would walk through its doors.

The agritourism today
In addition to 6 delightful rooms, Cascina Veja is located in the heart of a commercial farm that represents the authentic soul of our hospitality. Here, with passion and dedication, we grow local specialties that we offer to our guests every day.
Small "patches of grass" and gentle slopes with chestnut groves are home to the pastures of the Langhe sheep that we carefully breed. Their precious milk is the ingredient that makes our cheeses so special.
Some pigs fatten slowly, with no hurry, no antibiotics or hormones, providing us with unique meat for the preparation of our cured meats.
Greenhouses filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables that enjoy the sunshine and loving care of our staff.
Today, Cascina Veja is an oasis of authenticity and beauty where tradition is the thread that ties us to the heart of the earth.
